🖤 The Day That Still Echoes
I remember that year so clearly — how nervous I was preparing for the HKCEE exam. If my memory serves me right, it was the Physics paper, the subject I had the least confidence in. I passed, but the result wasn’t great. That day was marked by a “Black Rainstorm,” and the exam had to be postponed.
But it wasn’t just the exam that made me anxious. It was the number of deaths from a protest. Even now, living far away from where it happened, I still feel as if my hands are tied by an invisible force. I can’t really talk about what that day means. And those two numbers — when placed together — have become a taboo. No one is allowed to mention a word or express how they feel.
This is sad. Very sad 😢
For some reason, this piece of music has been playing in my head for the past couple of weeks.
