Cyclone Winds, Cold Nights, and Two Restless Cats

I would say this is my first experience of a true cyclone here. The wind is so strong it actually shifted some broken blocks on top of my roof. One of the eye screws holding my sun shade is nearly blown out of the wall, but I have to wait until the cyclone passes before pushing it back in. The strong wind is expected to last until Monday morning, though I really hope it calms down sooner. The temperature has dropped a lot. Last night was 18, but it felt much lower. Even now it says 22, yet to me it still feels like 18.

Because there might be flying objects outside, I’m keeping both cats indoors. It was a bit of a nightmare when I woke up. Many things were on the floor, and there were new scratch marks on the leather bench and fabric sofa. I kept telling myself that materials can always be replaced, but their well-being matters more. So I just sucked it up and cleaned the place.

Cross’s wound is getting a little better, but now I’ve noticed the hair in front of his ears is thinning, and the skin looks red. He managed to remove the cone last night—I don’t know how many times he scratched himself. Fortunately, he didn’t scratch until he bled again. I hope tonight the cone stays on. It’s very difficult to keep two cats inside the house, especially with my OCD. But this morning I stayed in bed until late, knowing they had enough food and water. I already knew it would be a disaster downstairs. Hopefully tomorrow won’t be too bad.
