I was told that workers would start working in my neighbor’s yard yesterday, so I tried my best to catch the kittens and bring them safely into my own yard. I managed to catch Cross. He is super cute and a little naughty — I guess that applies to all kinds of males.
I brought Cross into the house first and then tried to catch the other two kittens. But I only saw one in my neighbor’s yard. I’m not sure where the other one went. Ginger has three babies. I haven’t named the other two yet; I think the names will come to me when they are finally in my hands. Fingers crossed that the missing one is safe and kicking.
Cross almost didn’t stop running around the house. It’s natural to explore a new environment, but it was very difficult for me to catch him when he hid behind the toilet. I was sure the bathroom door was closed, but when I re-entered, I couldn’t see Cross anywhere. Then I remembered that when Maomao’s kittens were in my bathroom, they hid behind the toilet too. So I checked there — and found this little fur ball curled up in the same spot.
I hand-fed Cross some solid food, and then he ran straight to Ginger for milk. Ginger lay down on the floor, and Cross grabbed her teat and started sucking. The sound was like a tiny machine gun. The whole scene was so sweet and full of love.
